Size Range:
We have decided to use a letter system for our size range and have included 2 different cup sizes. Sizes range from A to L.
The B Cup size range has a bust measurement range from 82cm to 137cm (32 1/4 inch to 54 inch).
The D Cup size range has a full bust measurement range from 87cm to 142cm (34 1/4 inch to 55 7/8 inch).
This pattern has been drafted for someone who is 1.65m or 5'5" tall. For reference Sharlene is 5ft 5.5 inches tall.
Fit:
The Emily Dress and Top has a loose fit from the bust down for maximum comfort, while maintaining a more tailored silhouette above the bust. The result is an 'easy fittiing' dress or top without feeling oversized and baggy. We are calling it "refined comfort".
Fabric Suggestions:
This pattern will work best with lightweight fabrics such as viscose, lightweight tencel or modal, cotton lawn or double gauze.
Lightweight linen, tencel twill (and other heavier tencels), broderie angalise or cotton poplin will also work but the sleeves and gathered areas will have more volume.
Notions and Tools:
- 0.5m of lightweight fusible interfacing
- Matching thread
- One button for view A and D
- A Tailors Ham and Sleeve Roll or Sleeve Board will be useful for pressing different areas.
- View C and F - Fusible stay tape can be used to reinforce the neckline. This is optional. Thin strips of interfacing can also be used.
Fabric Requirements:
See the table in the photos for the full list of fabric requirements. The requirements are based on the sleeve view and skirt/top length. The bodice requirements remain similar for all views.
Finished Garment Measurements:
The finished measurement of the waist is the same as the finished bust measurement, this can be used for the high waist. For the lower waist (around the tummy) the measurement will be the same as the hip as the skirt/peplum is a rectangle with straight sides.
